Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Marilyn grew up with a keen interest in fashion with a strong desire to help people. By her late teens, she found herself working the front desk in a salon while studying to be a chemist at the University of Puerto Rico, Cayey campus. One day a client broke a nail and Marilyn had to fix it without knowing anything about nails. At that moment she discovered that she had a natural talent for nail design.

Now, 35 years later, Marilyn has competed and won over 24 trophies, and her artistry has graced the cover of 9 Nails Magazines. She has trained with and became an expert in many of the industry’s top brands and in 2015 started as Global Education Director for Star Nail International, CUCCIO Pro and Cina Pro. Her experience allows her to help nail technicians learn techniques to improve nail application, how to be an educator, improve presentation skills, product chemistry, leadership skills and more. She is one of the best Latino nail educators worldwide and continues to travel to beauty shows and seminars around the world to inspire technicians to advance their skills and education.
