What it is: AKA lunula. The visible part of the nail matrix. Covered by the nail plate, this crescent shaped, light white area extends from under the proximal nail fold out onto the nail bed.
How to use it: Moons can be recreated in natural shades or in color depending on the artist or client’s preference or design. Often seen in pink and white competition enhancements.
