What it is: AKA color fading. This nail art technique fades one color into another, and the meeting point is a combination of the two. There are no rules to define how many colors can be used.
How to use: Used for a variety of nail art looks, notably the baby-boomer, which fades pink into a soft white tip.

What it is: Any item used to hold art colors for nail art.
How to use: When small amounts of colored nail paints, polishes and associated art products are needed, use an art palette such as wax paper, glass, ceramic, acrylic, plastic, metal or other material to display the product for ease of use.
How to clean: Depending on the art products used on the palette, clean with acetone or alcohol, and then wash with soap and water. Dry before storing.

METAL PUSHER [met-l, poosh-er]

What it is: A metal implement with a spoon-shaped end, used to gently push back the eponychium to expose the excess cuticle attached to the nail plate.
How to use: Used at the start of each service to gently push back the surrounding skin to expose the nail plate. Some pushers have a scraping end, shaped like half of a nail nipper, that can gently scrape away the dead skin to clean the nail plate.
How to clean: Scrub with soap and water, and dry. Then submerge in hospital grade disinfectant.
How to store: After disinfection and sanitization, store covered, in a clean dry area.

What it is: AKA masque; concentrated treatment product used in manicures and pedicures. Composed of mineral clays, moisturizing agents, skin softeners, aromatherapy oils, and other beneficial ingredients, which combine to cleanse, tighten, tone, hydrate, and nourish the skin.
How to use: Used as a luxury upgrade element to any manicure or pedicure service.
How to apply: Decant a single serving and apply to the skin with a spatula or masque brush. Often covered with thin plastic and warm towels to harness heat from the body and allow the skin’s pores to open and receive the efficacy of the ingredients.
How to remove: Rinse off with warm water or wipe away with hot, wet towels.
How to store: Store with lids closed tightly in a cool dark place.

How to apply: Float onto a nail form or over a nail tip to strengthen, extend or color the nail, or used with fine brushes to create nail designs and cured in a UV or LED lamp.
How to remove: File off or dissolve with remover according to the type of gel and the manufacturer’s instructions.
