Co-owner of Salon Legacy in Rolla, Missouri & international principal educator for Artistic Nail Design, Sarah Petersen has turned her passion for art & nailcare into a burgeoning business & has enjoyed many highs during her 15- year career. Talented, ambitious, self-enthused & motivated are just a few words that describe Sarah. At 38-yearsold, she’s a successful nail artist, salon owner & educator. Not content to own & run a salon while nurturing a young family, Sarah completed educator training in 2014 to become an international Artistic Nail Design educator. “I’m thrilled to be part of the Artistic educator team, as I find teaching very rewarding, & it’s been a career-long passion of mine,” Sarah enthuses. Constantly educating herself & enhancing her skills, Sarah has made it her mission to continue to grow & develop her skill set in order to expand in & with the nail industry.

STEPS

Prepare the nail tip by sizing & shaping, then apply a coat of UV/LED base coat gel & cure. Gel polish the entire nail in a navy blue color, cure under a UV/LED lamp.

Using a dotting tool & nail art brush, add half a maroon flower & then outline a light blue flower pattern in UV/LED gel & cure.

Using UV/LED yellow gel, outline the maroon flower & add a dot in the center of the flower, then cure under a UV/LED lamp.

Add tiny coral dots with UV/LED gel around the center yellow dot, cure, then use UV/LED matte top coat & cure.

Add a gold outer edging to the flower design, down the right hand side of the nail tip to complete the design. Apply UV/LED top coat & cure.

Prep the natural nail using a 180-grit file, remove dust. Apply “Prep It!”, then two thin coats of Flex It! “Cover Peach”, curing each coat for 60-seconds.

Prep Apply a thin, even coat of HD Pro “Matt It!” Cure for 60-seconds.

Use the HD Pro Long liner brush and HD Pro Art Gel in “Graphite” to create a wavy line. Cure for 30-seconds, then rub line with a dusting brush.
