Working as a nail professional since 2009, Dafne Fernández, known for both her nail sculpture, structure and art skills, is the founder and owner of Stanzy Nails & Beauty, Botica Puré, Mano Santa Nail Art and the director of the Stanzy Academy in Mexico City. Dafne became globally renowned after taking the role of global educator for Artistic Nail Design from 2012-2018. A champion tech, Dafne has won accolades in Orlando, Vegas, Pasadena and at the first Nailympia Canada in 2019. Dafne is an international judge, who has educated in Japan, the USA, China, Turkey, The Netherlands, the UK, Russia, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, New Zealand, Australia and Greece. She’s also the host of Nailympia Mexico.

Kustom Klaws is owned and operated by former Perth burlesque babe, Kenjai. Before opening her own business, Kenjai was an international multi-award winning pin-up and burlesque performer. She toured the world at events including the London Burlesque Festival, Galway Burlesque Festival Ireland, Slavic Burlesque Festival Poland, the New Zealand Burlesque Festival and the Australian Burlesque Festival. Kenjai has also performed with cabaret troupes in Malta, Paris, and Hamburg.

After a hugely successful year in 2017 touring the world, Kenjai decided to put burlesque on the back burner to focus on her nail career. And so, Kustom Klaws was born.

Kenjai is a qualified nail technician with a Cert III in Nail Technology. In 2017, Kenjai began working from her home-based salon. In May of 2018, Kustom Klaws opened doors inside Bronze Bombshell Beauty in Claremont. The business quickly boomed and Kenjai was awarded multiple prestigious state and national awards for her nail art.

On May 1, 2019 Kustom Klaws opened doors at 1004 Beaufort Street Inglewood with the first standalone Kustom Klaws Salon. Since then Kustom Klaws has quickly become one of Perth’s most sought after salons. GlossaryLive takes a look inside this funky, fantastic salon with its unique nail style and vibe.

Born in Mexico City, Daniel Neyra changed his career path into nails to try something different. “I’ve always liked nail designs & wanted to design them myself, so I moved into nails & it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. In 2019 I took a course with Dafne Fernandez, who became my mentor. I fell in love with nails when I met her & got hooked. For me, to work in nails represents constancy, effort & enthusiasm. I think the secret to success is practice, study & updating skills, because everything is constantly changing, so if you don’t practice, you’ll not reach your goals.”  Recently Daniel competed at Nailympia Mexico. “I’m so proud I took part, as I won first place in one of my favorite categories, Extreme Nails Poster. To enter required much research around the theme to avoid doing something out of context & it paid off.” Currently, Daniel owns the Black Magic Nails studio.

  • HD Compact Chrome in Silver
  • Akzentz Hybrid Pro Lamp

DOWNLOAD WORKBOOK

STEPS

Start with a base of your favorite shade of pink gel polish and cure, depending on the gel that you’re using, you may need a few coats to get full opacity.

Apply a layer of foil gel and cure.

Gently wipe off the back of your transfer foil with 99% IPA, prior to using the foil (I’m using a kaleidoscopic silver foil). Then press the foil onto the nail in a touch-and-go motion across the entire surface. Apply top coat and cure.

Create a Barbie-inspired ‘B’ design. Once you’re happy with it, sprinkle acrylic powder over it.

Saturate with gel paint and cure. Then remove excess powder.

2022 Nail Art, 3D pink nails, crystal embellishment, Trending Nail Art

To complete the design, place jewelry gel where you want your crystal embellishment. This will elevate the overall look of the design. Add your crystal and cure.
