You know.. I always like taking these walks back in time. I don't like living in the past but you know, sometimes it's good to reflect. So, when I first learned how to do nails, you know, we always talked about let's do a nail evaluation. Was the nail flexible or was it hard or was it splitting or whatever? And this was an important thing that I learned in the very beginning, but as I can continued on in my career, I started thinking about a couple of things and started thinking, well the apex of the natural nail from a lateral perspective is really, really important. And what you'll do is, if you look at 8 fingers and 2 thumbs, what you're going to notice is there's a certain amount of consistency on particular fingers or the 2 thumbs, but there's always going to be 1 finger or 2 where the apex is completely inconsistent with the other 9 and what you want to do there...what that kind of shows you is...OK...I want to enhance the beauty of what's already there.

What am I going to do? So my tip for you... is to look at the nails, visualize on that 1 nail where the apex should be that it's not necessarily. Most the time if it's someone that's right-handed their fingers drop down more on that 1 finger.

So really do that evaluation. Apply the sculpting form in order for you to create proper a apex placement and you're all good to go.
