In 1995 American artist Donna S. Dewberry, patented a ‘One Stroke’ technique that she’d develop. This new idea allowed painters to blend, shade and highlight all in one stroke of a brush. The concept consists of loading a brush with two or three separate colors and achieving the shading and highlighting in just one simple stroke. By 2010 nail technicians around the globe began adopting this technique for their nail art. Archival records and articles Circa 1700’s show that the Schools of Art in the UK trained apprentices in the ‘onestroke’ style as it was a quick method of painting for commercial reasons – to speedily decorate furniture, pottery and trays for selling.

Soak-Off Gel Colour
Gel Nail Polish
Assorted Gel Polish Colors
What it is: A chip-resistant brush-on pigmented oligomer in an opaque bottle or pot that cures when exposed to UV or LED light.
How to use it: Developed to create long-lasting, durable nail color. Use on clients that want a chip-resistant polish for 2-3 weeks of wear. Dries immediately once cured.
How to apply it: Most often used with a base coat, then 2 layers of color, then finished with a shiny or matte top coat with each layer being cured.
How to remove it: Apply acetone or product remover to a cotton pad, gently press to the nail & wrap with a foil. Soak according to manufacturer’s instructions.
How to store: Store with lids tightly closed in a cool, dry place & keep away from heat & light.
What it is: A sheer object or material allows partial light to pass through; it’s almost clear.
How to use it: Sheer or almost-clear nail shades, which are not quite translucent yet nowhere near opaque, and often come in nudes, beiges or light pinks.
What it is: Comprising red, blue and yellow; they cannot be mixed from other colors; other colors are made from mixing them.
How to use it: When mixed they are the source of all other colors.
