The Fall 2024 runway shows have set the stage for an exciting season of fashion, with trends that not only capture the imagination but also provide endless inspiration for creative nail art. At GlossaryLive.com, these runway trends are meticulously analyzed and transformed into wearable art that your clients can flaunt every day. Under the expert guidance of World Champion Alisha Rimando, this season’s nail designs are all about embracing the latest fashion trends and translating them into chic, eye-catching looks that will leave a lasting impression.
This season, the runways were awash with pinks and stripes, with monochromatic pink looks and varied striped patterns dominating the collections of major fashion houses such as Stella McCartney, Prada, and Chanel. The use of soft mauve tones, combined with pinstripes and bold color blocks, made these shows truly stand out. These elements are perfect for creating modern, elegant nail art that reflects the vibrant energy of the season. Consider designing nails that incorporate various pink hues, accentuated by either subtle or striking stripes, to bring a touch of runway glamour to everyday wear.
The collections from Etro, Rochas, and Rabanne showcased an intriguing blend of blue and green tones. The addition of argyle prints offered a fresh and sophisticated approach to nail art, ideal for clients who love to stay ahead of the fashion curve. The argyle pattern, with its classic yet modern appeal, can be beautifully adapted into nail designs that are both stylish and distinctive.
Meanwhile, Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, and Prabal Gurung introduced an array of chic, formal looks, characterized by luxurious textures. From fluffy outerwear to reflective tinsels, these textures added depth and dimension to the runway. “This cozy but chic fall look demanded some texture and reflection,” Alisha Rimando explained, emphasizing the importance of these elements in creating nail art that is both trendy and timeless. By incorporating textured finishes and reflective accents into your nail designs, you can capture the essence of these runway looks and offer your clients something truly special.
As Fall 2024 unfolds, let these runway trends inspire your nail art creations, helping you to bring the latest fashion trends from the catwalk to your clients’ fingertips.
GlossaryLive is proud to celebrate Sarah Petersen (@legacynailart) as the August 2024 Nail Artist of the Month. Co-owner of Salon Legacy in Rollo, Missouri, alongside her sister and hairdresser Ashley Whittingham, Sarah has transformed her passion for art and nail care into a thriving business. With a career spanning 17 years, she is recognized for her talent, ambition, and motivation, attributes that have garnered her success as a nail artist, salon owner, and educator.
Sarah’s journey into the nail industry began with a deep-seated love for creativity and artistry. Over the years, she has skillfully balanced her professional commitments with her role as a wife and mother of three. Her journey is a testament to her exceptional ability to juggle family life with her professional responsibilities. Not content with merely running a successful salon, Sarah completed her educator training in 2014, which propelled her into the international arena.
As an international educator, Sarah had the opportunity to travel and collaborate with some of the world’s top nail artists. “I’m thrilled to be an educator as I find teaching very rewarding, and it’s been a career-long passion of mine,” Sarah shares. Her work has been featured on the cover of NAILS Magazine’s February 2012 issue and showcased in several other issues. Additionally, she has been a featured artist on GlossaryLive’s Salon Stopover and Tag That Trend shows.
Sarah’s enthusiasm for her work is contagious, creating a loving and motivating environment at Salon Legacy. The newest addition, recent beauty school graduate Calli Naugle, is nearly fully booked after only seven months, a testament to the supportive environment Sarah provides.
In her quest to continually improve her salon’s services, Sarah recently incorporated HEMA-free nail products into the menu. “I’m starting to have more clients concerned about the chemicals they put on and in their bodies. I have chosen to use Light Elegance products. They are professional, and I haven’t had any issues with anything I’ve used from them, including the acrylic and soak-off gel polish line. Now that I’ve done lots of research on the matter, it almost seems crazy that I didn’t do it before,” she explains.

GlossaryLive, a leading platform dedicated to nail education and artistry, has intertwined the worlds of fashion and nail design inspired by the prestigious Met Gala on May 6th. By drawing upon the rich history and beauty of iconic couture dresses that will be on display, GlossaryLive aims to ignite creativity and pay homage to the timeless elegance of these garments with stunning nail art interpretations.
At the heart of this innovative celebration GlossaryLive has chosen five legendary couture dresses that have left an indelible mark on the world of fashion. The ethereal black Evening Cloak of colored tulips by Charles Frederick Worth circa 1889 embodies sophistication and grace, serving as a muse for intricate hand painted nail designs by Aigul Fritzke that capture its enchanting allure.
The avant-garde Alexander McQueen clam dress from Spring 2001 inspired Alisha Rimando to create a delicate ocean inspired nail look showcasing organic shell shapes while adding a splash of texture.
The crystal and sequined layered Christian Dior ball gown circa 1949 inspired Fritzke to infuse jewels in her nail artistry to offer regal elegance with a touch of glamour for this and the hand stitched Victorian-inspired ruffled ball gown by Charles Frederick Worth circa 1887. Both ball gowns provide a rich tapestry of inspiration for nail artists to explore and reinterpret.
The textured floral fabric on the Evening ensemble from Ninca Ricci, circa 1958 evoked a multitude of nail art mediums for Alisha Rimando. “Texture always inspires me,” Rimando explains, “I love to layer techniques. For this look I started with a watercolor effect using blooming gel, and embossed circles onto the nail using acrylic. Between layers I added hand-painted flowers and finished the nails with matte and gloss details to add even more depth and texture to the layers.”
As GlossaryLive anticipates the upcoming celebration of fashion, MET gala guests can anticipate a mesmerizing exhibition that showcases approximately 250 historically significant and aesthetically beautiful fashion pieces, each representing a ‘Sleeping Beauty’ of the MET Gala theme. These delicate and irreplaceable garments will be brought to life through innovative display techniques, inviting attendees to immerse themselves in a multisensory experience of these historical garments.
Through the transformative art of nail design, GlossaryLive invites enthusiasts to embark on a journey that transcends traditional boundaries, where couture dresses serve as the catalyst for artistic expression and ingenuity. Join us as we celebrate the magic of the MET Gala through the medium of nail art, where beauty, history, and creativity converge to create a truly unforgettable experience.
